Helpful Information

Here are a couple pdfs that might be helpful to knitters and crocheters.

Many patterns found on the internet give the hook or needle size in millimeters, which is foreign to those of us in the US.  This chart will help you figure out the US equivalent.

I get asked all the time about hat sizing and how do you know if the hat you are making is the right size.  This chart tells you, in general terms, how big around and how long a hat should be for a variety of age groups.

Here are charts for the most common abbreviations used in Crochet and Knitting patterns.

300 Baby Hats and....

Since we started this hat making project in June, we are in the neighborhood of 400 hats being donated.  There are hats being dropped off every day in our collection bins at the College of San Mateo Library and the San Mateo Athletic Club at College of San Mateo.

We cannot begin to thank everyone who has helped with this project so far.

We have collected 300 baby hats.  These pictures are of 142 baby hats washed and packaged for delivery to the UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals next weekend.  All 300 hats will be delivered next weekend.
