Caps for Cancer

September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month.  The Yarn Arts Group that meets at the College of San Mateo Library has been asked to make hats for the children (toddlers through teens) going through cancer treatments at Lucille Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford.

During August and September we will be making hats for these kids.  Every Friday, 1 - 3 pm,  through the month of September we will be having hat making events at the College of San Mateo Library.  All materials will be provided and people of all skill levels are welcome.

If you would like to make hats on your own to donate, please use soft acrylic yarn and any pattern you like.  Yarn will be available is the College of San Mateo Library once the school semester starts on August 15th.  There is a bin in the Library and the San Mateo Athletic Club if you would like to drop off hats.

More dates may be added if there is interest.  I will keep you posted.
